Koi II features nine fish in richly colourful varieties in a dynamic composition. The Koi depicted are all existing breeds, rendered with emphasis to their pattern, colour and anatomy. Koi are embodied symbols of good luck, peace of mind and prosperity. The work honours their jewel-like beauty whilst playing with our need to find meaning and influence in a complex and multifaceted reality.
