‘Astrakhan’ is a print from an intricate pen and ink study of persian lamb fur, which is also called astrakhan fur.
The print measures 40cm x 50cm (ca. 15.75 in x 19.7 in), it’s shown framed in a frame of the same size*.
It is part of the work evolving around my fascination with drawing fur. I’m searching for something mysterious in its texture and form. To me this fur looks like a frozen process, a still image of invisible forces. I believe its structure can reveal traces of an ethereal essence of living things.
*all art prints are sold unframed. The frames shown here are standard sizes which should be easily available. Otherwise having it custom framed by a professional is a great way to make the artwork stand out whilst matching it to your interiors and personal taste.
