Description
A colourful flowing silk chiffon scarf featuring a print of fruit bats feasting on mangoes, papayas, figs and passion fruit, against a pastel dusk sky.
135 x 135cm (ca. 53×53 in), 100% silk, made in Italy and finished with a fine pin hem. Delivered in custom made gift box.
The print is a joyful arrangement of fruit bats, also called flying foxes (these are African Straw Colored bats), feasting on succulent and colourful fruit. The design carries associations of joy, prosperity, harmony and community, blended with whatever we associate with bats – something dark and mysterious in many parts of the world, yet good luck and prosperity in the Far East. The artwork is based on indian ink and watercolour paintings by Arlette Ess.
A large silk chiffon scarf is a great accessory to use all year round, as it is lightweight and not bulky. It can be worn long and floaty, or wrapped around the neck, draped over a simple evening dress, or wrapped around bare shoulders on a breezy evening… The fine fabric and burst of pastel colours of this fruit bat print silk scarf make it a statement piece day or night. This scarf is very versatile and ideal for transitional temperatures.
Care: Steam to refresh and remove creases. Dry clean (Silk is naturally dirt- and odor-repelling and doesn’t need cleaning often).
