signature fox fur print on lightweight flowing ‘peau d’ange’ silk with a slight sheen.
‘Toxic’ features a wild mix of colours on a dark base. As with most of the scarves, there is an emphasis on the texture of the drawing, and the subject matter is not prominent as such when the scarf is worn, but its texture comes alive on the moving silk. This Italian silk has a very ‘watery’ flowing quality and hardly any bulk, so even though it is large it can also be worn as a skinny long scarf.
I’m fascinated with drawing fur because I feel that by observing its texture it may be possible to experience something mysterious, to get a glimpse of an essence of the structure of living things.
